Painting Business - How's the painting business in Pittsburgh?
A fellow painter was just asking if you can make a decent living year round in Pittsburgh. He lives in Florida and is moving to Pittsburgh soon. (Why he wants to leave sunny Florida for cold Pittsburgh sounds crazy.)
One of his friends told him that he couldn't make a living there from November through March. He said it was dead that time of year. Another guy told him the opposite with which I totally agree from my own experience.
The truth is, you can get just as much painting business during the winter months as you can during the summer months. As a matter of fact, I started my painting business in the end of summer and stayed busy that winter.
I did have a few rough Holiday times though until I learned how to remedy that. If the painting season stopped at winter time until March I guess all the paint stores would close at that time every year for the season - except in Florida.
